Old people connecting to the Web

Tis article is named “How to Fight the War Against Ageism”, was published by beliefnet and written by Corine Gotti.

This piece defends that there is nothing wrong with aging. The author states that elder people are not respected in our society “whether it is through the media, our culture or our conversations”. They are referred as “ineffective and are often the butt of jokes”. "We need to transform on how we view people in general and this comes from transforming the mind” by Mark Twain, explains that we use an aspect, that a person has, and make it general, For example, an older person is incapable of doing something and people assume that all the older people are just like that. Corine Gotti also says that “believing in negative stereotypes may affect health”; that we need to “recognize where discrimination comes from”; that we have to adopt a “positive look”; that we have to “start changing your own views on aging”; and that old people should “get connected” and not fall into a boring routine.

In conclusion, this text revolves around the stereotypes associated with elder people. We should not judge people by one single aspect. We have to embrace the other ones differences.
